A fan recently posted some observations on one of the movie’s major scenes involving Superman on Vero. In it, a montage of Superman’s heroic feats are shown, overlaid with broadcast news discussions on the political implications of a being like Superman becoming a part of their world. There’s obviously a bit of religious symbolism here, as Vero user The Kingslayer observes (via Reddit):

Vero User: Love this scene and the Zimmer score. Sums up what BvS is about really. Clark trying to do the right thing but everyone just refers to him as some ‘higher power’ as they say and the Day of the Dead partakers put their hands on him, almost as if he’s a God they could finally meet. Plus, the symbolism of Clark being dragged down by the people who died during his and Zod’s fight, symbolized by people dressed as skeleton, honoring the dead. Maybe that’s just my overthinking – still, super-duper scene.

The scene also recalls a nightmarish vision that Superman saw in Man of Steel (also directed by Snyder) in which he sunk into a pit of skulls of Zod’s victims, a vision of what could happen if he chose to side with the invading Kryptonians instead of to the people of his adopted planet. This scene provides an interesting parallel in that instead of falling under the weight of people he failed to rescued, Superman is being honored by people whose lives were saved. While the film is pretty serious, there’s something kind of touching about that.

Mattel Reveals ‘Justice League’ Action Figures Line-Up

Wonder Woman just came out in theaters less than a week ago, but that isn’t the only DC Comics film we are getting in 2017. Later in the fall, we will see the formation of some of the most iconic heroes in the DC Universe in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Mattel revealed their line-up of action figures for Justice League, on the official Join The League website, with Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman, Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman, Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman, Ray Fisher a.k.a. Cyborg, Arthur Carry a.k.a. Aquaman as well as Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash. They also revealed that they will be releasing a Mattel version of the Batmobile.
